Bringing a voice to the voiceless

in

This film is an international cross-platform campaign, in the sense that the 12 European NGO’s that were behind the campaign could use it to create awareness around the topic of sex trafficking.

Voiceless Women was produced by young director, Martin Nørgaard Furze, and released on 18th november 2018 on the EU International Anti-trafficking day to much acclaim, resulting in saved lives and increased funding for 4 of the 12 NGOs along with an intent of spreading the film on wider scale by the European Union.

Voiceless women shows 6 different women in different locations associated with forced sex work. The women are depicted as sex workers while lip-syncing to authentic male clients’ sex-forum reviews of female sex workers.

In 6 rooms the film unfolds the true horrors of forced sex work and the misogynist male client view. In the film the audience get an unfiltered perspective of how women in the darker part of the sex industry are viewed and what they have to deal with.

What’s important to note is that all the words in the film are genuine. They are all transcribed and unedited from real, closed online sex forums and sites from from the dark web where sex workers are reviewed and rated like a human version of a product rating site. Wathing this video, the opinions expressed challenge tolerance for even the most hardened viewer.

Within two weeks of release of the film had led to anonymous tips resulting in reporting of two houses with female victims of sex trafficking – the women there were helped to safety by Danish NGO New Lives.
