McWhopper

BRAND Burger King / MADE BY Y&R New Zealand

in

To get the World talking about peace on World Peace Day, Sep 21, 2015, Burger King made a proposal. They wanted to team up with their all-time biggest competitor, McDonald’s, to create the McWhopper, which would be sold at a pop-up store on neutral territory in Atlanta exactly between the headquarters of the two Fast Food giants. One location – one day only, Burger King wanted to meet in the middle and start the peace conversation.

Some say world peace will never happen, but some also say an unthinkable burger like the McWhopper with an equal amount of Big Mac and Whopper ingredients would never be made. Burger King wanted to prove everyone wrong.

Unfortunately, McDonald’s chose pride over peace and turned down the offer, but Burger King did get numerous prizes out of the campaign.
