“Crocodile Inside” by Lacoste

It’s highly unlikely that wearing a pair of any sneakers will automatically result in a nail-biting adventure where you find yourself swinging from building to building; hanging on for dear life by the skin of your teeth. If that were the case, more people would wear crocs to stay on the safe side of life. If you’ve read The Hero Trap by Thomas Kolster, you can see where we’re going with this.

In giving them the benefit of the doubt, we can say that this ad for Lacoste by BETC Paris has some charm to it. It’s an entertaining short film that uses stirring music, no dialogue and good acting to appeal to our softer side. We see romance, resilience and the reality that stepping out of ones’ comfort zone can be rewarding in the greatest of ways. Will Lacoste sneakers achieve these things for you? Not likely. But that shouldn’t stop you from enjoying the entertaining and beautifully shot short film. After all, it earned them a Film Lions Grand Prix this year:
